"I have been a livery owner in Sophie’s yard since 2001. Prior to that I was a livery owner in a different yard but I moved to Three Oaks after buying a 5 year old mare, Joli and realising that I needed more help! In all these years I have been very happy. Joli is fit and well, my tack is clean, as are my rugs, and the facilities are fantastic. Sophie exercises and looks after the horses herself and is always on hand to help with any queries or problems that arise. Sophie has very high standards of care and turnout which are consistently maintained by her and her staff. The yard is relatively small and we are a friendly bunch. I have a very busy job and knowing that my horse is very well looked after is fantastic.
Sophie has also ridden my horse for me at competitions, quite often in the ribbons, and has jumped her for me as well, which I would not have been able to do. The beds are all shavings over rubber matting, and quality haylage and feed is fed, which is ideal if you or your horse have any respiratory issues (I am asthmatic).
Everything is included in the livery fees, except clipping. When I say everything I mean everything! Not just all the things that you would expect for full livery (turnout, mucking out, grooming, exercise and tack cleaning on a daily basis) but also, mane and tail pulling, trimming, washing of numnahs and summer sheets, plaiting for shows, plus organising and attending the vet and farrier’s visits. Sophie also organises and administers the worming programme and offers clipping at very reasonable rates.............click here to read more

I moved my horse to Sophie's in 2023 in search of turnout and nearby off-road hacking to help bring on a young horse. I got both of these in abundance, but also so much more!
Sophie's attention to detail is second to none, and she really does treat every horse as her own. Lots of yards say they do this, but very few deliver on this front. Because she has ridden at top level herself, both eventing and showing, she is great at training and producing young horses, and gives the impression she really enjoys the project. She also gives lessons (she's a perfectionist, watch out), and will ride and train your horse too if you're on holiday or your work schedule is tricky, and whatsapp you amusing updates. My horse looks better and better every week.
The yard is run with military organisation, there is not a hoofpick or piece of shavings out of place, which encourages us all to be tidy! However, it is flexible, you can ride when you want (many of us ride in the half-darkness).
I also love that you can ride in a big field rather than a school (there is an all-weather arena), with jumps and poles set up.
And going back to the original reasons for my move – the turnout is genuinely every day, year-round and there is plenty of grass. I have a lightweight thoroughbred and they have not only had access to the grass that they needed every day, but also ad lib haylage, and three meals a day until Sophie was happy with their weight. (She also gets a nutritionist to come and weigh them an advise every few months). When my horse needed to chill out and put on weight, Sophie was able to keep her out 24/7, which was such a benefit.
The hacking in Bramshill Forest is fantastic. You just have to cross a road to get into the forest, no riding along any roads if you don't want to. But if you need to do some roadwork, then there are quiet lanes right outside the yard. There are also fords and other water obstacles if you are trying to train an eventer! There is an all-weather gallops a 10-min hack away which you can hire for fitness sessions.

Having moved Jack, my event horse to Sophie's yard in March 2016 we have made huge progress with her help. Sophie's calm and professional attitude has enabled Jack to settle in to the yards routine and improve his condition, attitude and way of going.
Sophie has been invaluable with getting both my horse and I progressing up the levels in eventing. She has planned events and helped us train as well as riding Jack while I had exams. Her understanding of Eventing has been key for an amature like me, from fitness to feeding, studs to saddles.
Sophie is so passionate about all the horses on the yard, giving each one high quality, specific care to their individual needs, from the retired competition horses to fit eventers. The yard is organised and well run with the help of the experienced grooms, whom are meticulous with their care. There is also a seasoned team of vets, physio's and farriers who excel in their sphere.
The facilities the livery can offer are perfect for me with a floodlit school with mirrors and a huge jump field, with a full set of show jumps and some XC. Not only that, there is a horse walker and great hacking which is ideal for fitness.
Both Jack and myself are very happy at Sophie's yard and I feel I can ask Sophie anything to do with the with my horse. She makes owning Jack so stress free and enjoyable."

I have known Sophie for over 30 years so when I moved to the area there was only one yard I wanted to entrust my horse on – and that was at Sophie’s. A professionally run yard, the care and attention that she and the small team of hugely dedicated staff provide is second to none. They treat all the horses as if they were their own and never take short cuts – always catering for the horses individual needs and nothing is missed – the horses on the yard are all happy horses. Advice and guidance is on tap and the additional (inclusive) services such as tack cleaning, mane and tail pulling and plaiting/competition turnout means that I am able to juggle a busy job, family life and Eventing/competing – something I could not do without being on the yard. It is my ‘Happy Place’ with great facilities; all year round turnout (no matter what the weather throws at us), amazing hacking in Bramshill Forest (excellent hills, miles of good tracks, water features and hunt jumps) and close proximity to an all-weather gallops. It is not only a fabulous livery yard but I have made friends for life. I never want to leave!
