Perfect yard for serious competitors & happy hackers alike
"I have been a livery owner in Sophie’s yard for over 12 years. Prior to that I was a livery owner in a different yard but I moved to Three Oaks after buying a 5 year old mare, Joli and realising that I needed more help! In those ten years I have been very happy. Joli is fit and well, my tack is clean, as are my rugs, and the facilities are fantastic. Sophie exercises and looks after the horses herself and is always on hand to help with any queries or problems that arise. Sophie has very high standards of care and turnout which are consistently maintained by her and her staff. The yard is relatively small and we are a friendly bunch. I have a very busy job and knowing that my horse is very well looked after is fantastic.
Sophie has also ridden my horse for me at competitions, quite often in the ribbons, and has jumped her for me as well, which I would not have been able to do. The beds are all shavings over rubber matting, and quality haylage and feed is fed, which is ideal if you or your horse have any respiratory issues (I am asthmatic).
Everything is included in the livery fees, except clipping. When I say everything I mean everything! Not just all the things that you would expect for full livery (turnout, mucking out, grooming, exercise and tack cleaning on a daily basis) but also, mane and tail pulling, trimming, washing of numnahs and summer sheets, plaiting for shows, plus organising and attending the vet and farrier’s visits. Sophie also organises and administers the worming programme and offers clipping at very reasonable rates.
The school is maintained to a very high standard with regular harrowing, and there is also a large jump field with both show and cross country jumping. There is a horse walker and best of all, 50 yards from the front gate, there is access to miles of lovely off road hacking in Bramshill forest.

Radio 1 DJ Sarah Cox riding Joli at Olympia
In 2006 my horse had the chance to star in “Only Fools on Horses” at the London International Horse Show at Olympia. The effort that went into her star appearance by the yard was amazing! Even by Sophie’s very high standards this was a special event and Joli was absolutely immaculate. Sara Cox, the Radio 1 DJ jumped her in a celebrity showjumping competition. Not only was she the best behaved but she was also the best turned out!
During the time that I have been there, several horses have come to the yard for successful short term rehabilitation, mainly after veterinary operations. Almost all of them have been so impressed that they have become permanent liveries! In 2011my horse had to have a serious operation as an emergency. Without the quick thinking of Sophie who set off for the veterinary hospital immediately I don't know whether she would have survived ro not. Joli had to have 6 months rehabilitation after the operation and this was carried out to the letter each and every day by Sophie and her staff. Joli is now back fit and well, and even jumping again.
In the heavy snow and freezing conditions in 2010 and 2011 the yard ran normally. Sophie and Julia arrived for work every day as usual. The horses were turned out as usual into the snowy fields in extra rugs. The yard was gritted and exercise continued, despite the freezing conditions, by use of the school, forest and the horse walker.
I have been very happy in the yard for over 15 years and I cannot recommend the services that Sophie offers more highly."
